A WORD FOR THE NOW
This is a time of shaking worldwide. The financial markets and economies are affected all around the globe. The material things and institutions people have relied on in the past do not seem to gauranttee security these days. Everywhere people face disappointments and uncertainties. Is there hope, is there a future, will the downward trend continue, can we find courage and strength? These are questions people are asking worldwide.
1. Understand that in the midst of all the uncertainties which face us, there is one certainty we can hold unto- The faithfulness of the unchanging God. Times may change, God does not.
2. We must learn to place value beyond material things. Jesus said the life of a man does not consist in the abundance of the things he posseses. Real wealth is that which cannot be lost in a recession. There are things with enduring value. Actually, their value appreciates with the problems we face. their value is enhanced by our uncertainties. These are the issues of peace with God, faith in God, having a perspective of life from the angle of your value with God instead of valuing yourself based on the ephemeral things of life.
3. This is a time to draw nearer God with the understanding that your relationship with God creates a treasure which endures unto eternity. Afterall, everything we see and deal with in this present world will pass away.
4. With faith in God firmly in place we can face the troubles of the present with courage knowing that the uncertainties of the present cannot destroy our place with God. Don't despair, don't be negative and don't give in to depression. Look up in faith because as I like to say, "Head or tail, we win."
Friend, the ressurrection is about a new beginning after an end. I believe there is light ahead in your path. Be blessed now and always.
